While specific dates have not been released by Honda, the press expects the all-new
2013 Accord Coupe and 2013 Accord Sedan to be released later this year.

Body
The all-new for 2013 Honda Accord will retain the same sizable interior space while
achieving a new level of efficiency, more nimble handling and improved driving dynamics
with its new stylish ‘athletic” body that offers:
- a shortened overall length
- a significant reduction in weight
- lower vehicle height
- the 4-sided honeycomb grille
- rear taillights that sweep aggressively into the body
- large exhaust finishers integrated into the bumper the 2013 Accord Coupe Concept
Engine: Hybrid
Honda has announced the 2013 Accord lineup will feature the first application of
a new two-motor plug-in hybrid system to the Accord Sedan.
The Honda two-motor hybrid system moves continuously through three modes - all-electric,
gasoline-electric and direct-drive - to maximize driving efficiency and fuel economy.
In all-electric mode, the 2013 Accord Plug-In Hybrid will use a 6 kilowatt-hour
lithium-ion battery and a powerful 120 kW electric motor to achieve an all-electric
range of approximately 10-15 miles in city driving scenarios and a top speed of
62 mph. Fully recharging the battery will take less than four hours using a 120-volt,
outlet and less than 1.5 hours using a 240-volt charger.
In the gasoline-electric hybrid mode, the Accord is powered by its fuel-efficient
2.0-liter, i-VTEC inline four-cylinder, Atkinson cycle engine, paired with an electric
Continuously Variable Transmission (E-CVT). For more efficient high-speed cruising,
the Accord Plug-In Hybrid can engage in a direct-drive mode, in which only the engine
drives the front wheels.
Engine: 4 & 6 Cyl
The all-new 2013 Accord will boast three new powertrains including the first application
in the U.S. of Honda’s new 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine with direct injection. It
will deliver a significant boost in performance including additional horsepower
and an increase in midrange torque. Honda reports that the 2013 V6 Accord will increase
horsepower and torque through the use of a new 6-speed automatic transmission or
a 6-speed manual version.
Transmission
And the 4-cylinder version of the all-new 2013 Accord will also get a 6 speed manual
and an all-new continuously variable transmission CVT that Honda describes as being
“the best system in the marketplace in terms of efficiency, performance and sporty
driving feel – with none of the ‘rubber band’ feeling most CVTs are known for.”
Fuel Economy
Honda is predicting “class-leading” fuel economy with the new 4-cyliner engine and
the new CVT transmission. Even the V6 version of the 2013 Honda Accord is, according
to American Honda, expected to achieve class leading fuel economy with the new 6-speed
automatic. Honda’s proprietary Eco-Assist function and ECO button will also be available
to help our customers with a practical approach to improve their own fuel efficient
driving habits.

expanded to all of our products in the future starting with the new Accord.
And all NAVI-equipped models will be getting the multi-angle back up camera that
was debuted on the new 2012 CR-V.
In addition, the 2013 Accord will get a new, Honda-exclusive blind spot display
named "Honda Lane Watch." With a camera mounted in the passenger side-view mirror,
... the driver can use the display to identify vehicles in their blind spot through
real-time video without the risk of false warnings found in some other systems.
Accord will be the only vehicle in its class to make this feature available.
