I've had other remote starters for a lot less money that did a lot more than the Honda aftermarket starter. Other remotes have had programmable features such as starting the car automatically 2 or 3 times a day and running for 20 minutes. Great for when there's no car plug in available. Also I hate that the car shuts off as soon as I unlock it. My other remotes kept running and as soon as I put the key in the ignition then I could continue on without restarting. These are just 2 reasons why I find my Honda remote virtually useless.

This remote car starter doesn't even begin to compare to my former Viper remote starter. First, I hate the fact that it has to be separate from my remote keyless entry. Again, with the Viper, it was all on one remote. I could start the car and let it run for 15 minutes or more, go out and get in while it was running. Not any more. With this Honda remote I can run it for 10 minutes and have to turn it off before trying to unlock the door. If I want more than 10 minutes, I have to wait at least 10 minutes before it will restart by remote. It also has much less range than most remotes. Giving it two stars was being generous.
Bernardi Response - The design of this system tries to incorporate convenience and security for Honda owners. The vehicle remains locked while the remote starter is running so that theft cannot occur if the car is idling. The car must also be locked, with all doors closed or the remote start will not work. The system has a range of 200 feet. The Honda system also offers more integrated vehicle features that aftermarket systems cannot. It automatically sets climate control based on outside temp and even will disable the windshield wipers if they were left on so that they are not damaged by ice or snow build up.

It does what it say it does, but the fact that is it completely separate from the remote unlock, and that it disable it, requiring you to use the actual key to unlock the door, and upon unlocking it the engine would shut off, requiring you to start it all over again. I would not recommend it especially it is this expensive. Go aftermarket! Or Honda, if you are reading this, please fix this issue for all your customers. Thank you.

while it does provide the function specified, who ever wrote the other reviews obviously either don't have the feature or have never used one from any other vendor. It is simply ridiculous to prevent remote door unlock when engine is running with remote start. A theif will simply try and break a window anyways and instead I have to stand in the rain and unlock the door with the key or turn off the remote start. The best anti-theft is to require the key in the ignition within a certain amount of time. There is no way they have any technical reason to have this requirement unless they have a poorly designed keyless remote security system and sub-par key duplication prevention. I am very unsatisfied and some of these choices should be left to the owner to control.
I recommend avoiding this option unless you really need it.

"If I want more than 10 minutes, I have to wait at least 10 minutes before it will restart by remote. " ---you can add an additional 10 mins...for 20 total...at the inital start by repeating the steps a second time.
